I opted yesterday to go to the first cross country meet.  Although I brought clothes to run, by the time I picked up the kids and got to Kickapoo, the meet was beginning.

This was an easy run.  The first .4 the kids ran with me (and they ran the whole thing) and then I continued on.  It was late and raining.  I picked up the pace a little bit during the last mile (I accelerated into a sub 8 minute pace though that was in the last 1/2 mile), just to see how it felt.  It was pretty good.  It's been a while.

Aha caught you being a little sentimental and visiting your team!

True...the assistant coach wanted me to give the girls a pep talk prerace. I said no--I didn't want to step on anyone's toes AND it seemed a little awkward. I did, though, visit both teams at the start line!

Kickapoo? (interesting name). I'm glad you went to the cc meet - this lets you have fun without having to be in charge!! And, it's nice that your kids are running with you :)
