Ran after school.  My legs felt heavy for some reason.  I stopped after 4.5 miles to stretch for a few minutes and that helped a little bit.  I didn't wear my watch, but instead went along a known distance.  I went pretty slowly, and I'm glad I didn't have the watch.  Sometimes it nags me to go faster than I need to.

Amen to the watch thing. Sometimes I think it makes me pick up the pace and not be lazy but what's the point if it's supposed to be an easy run anyway? Anyway, nice mid-week run.

I hate that heavy leg feeling. Seems to set the tone for the whole run. I only use a watch for my speed workouts. My husband is talking about getting me a Garmin. I don't know. Since I am my own worst competitor I'm afraid it would do more harm than good.

Stacy, I like the garmin most times. But Joe is right: sometimes knowing my pace forces me to pick it up during an easy or recovery run, which sorta defeats the purpose.

Ditto what is said above. I am beginning to think more and more that the watch does me more harm than good. There seems to be value to running based on effort and feel and not knowing the pace.
