I started to do an interval workout at 2:00 in 85 degrees.  I warmed up 5 minutes and then did 2 min fast/2 min recovery until I got to 3 miles (cumulative) and realized that I was feeling poopy.  I didn't drink much today and it was hot.  So I decided just to finish at a slower pace.  I averaged 8:45 pace for the whole thing, but my last 2 miles were 9:30 avg.

And then I felt like crap until dinner.

Revising plans for the rest of the week.  No run tomorrow, since I'd have to run at the same time as today.  Run early Friday and then Sat. run when I get to Michigan (maybe evening, depending on the temp).  I haven't run 6 days a week in quite some time and I'd really like to this week.  Plus I'd like to get over 30 miles this week so I can do more building mileage.

I doubt I'll do more than 5 miles in Mich, since my whole family will be there and will try, in their evil way, to get me to skip running.  Luckily my husband has become quite good at helping me create opportunities to run!

I also found a race for June that I forgot about.  It's a 7.1 mile trail run.  I was looking at the results from last year, and there aren't that many women that run it.  I'm going to sign up sometime tomorrow--who knows?  Maybe I could be one of the fastest women.

family can be evil! I'm glad your husband is supportive--that is important when you have kids! And wow you are waay south of me!

When you were talking about how your bf is an unhealthy influence, I was thinking of my husband too. I am the health nut in our relationship (but I'm not obsessive--I like little indulgences, all in moderation) and he is the hostess cupcake eater. When we first were dating, he was over 300 lbs (don't let that weight fool you--he's an ex-college football player and he is broad and tall). Now I've revolutionized (a little) his habits and he's down to a little above his college weight of 265 (although it's not in the same muscle/fat proportion, of course).

But things didn't change overnight and I don't force him to do/like the same things I do. I just try to do more of the grocery shopping together to limit how my kids are learning to eat. If I had let him do all the shopping from the beginning it would be all potato chips and cookies, lots of red meat and hardly any fruits/veggies. He does the majority of the cooking, too, by the way. But we definitely plan meals together.

Are you in college now? I read about a lecture you were attending, so that's my assumption...

I would never dream of taking away his goodies...he also smokes...I figure when he decides he wants to quit smoking or eat better he will. He is 33 years old and I'm just too busy to have to undo all those years of those habits!

Oh and it kills me b/c he has like a 30 inch waist! He is skinny! he works really hard at work and his fast metabolism really helps. His saying is he will only drink water if it is in coffee. LOL

Yes I'm in school. I graduate next year and I will be a school teacher! Yippee! Right now I waitress and bartend to pay the bills...I like that job too but I can't see myself doing it for the rest of my life....Okay well that is probably waaay more info than you wanted! So what do you do?

I'm not saying taking away his goodies--most things are good in moderation--but try to subtly steer him towards a healthier lifestyle. He won't have a 30 inch waist forever. My husband was 30 when we started dating, too, but I've helped him break some dangerous habits.

I'm a teacher. High school English. I think I read that you are elementary ed? I also waitressed and bartended through college and I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore.
