I had to show up to jury duty again, but after 1.5 hours they sent us home, as the case we were called in for was settled.  I'm done now with jury duty.

And this is in response to Joe's comment from yesterday:  call me crazy, but I'd rather do jury duty over the summer. I hate missing work--subs never do lessons the way I want them done, and inevitably I have some "cleaning up" to do when I get back.  Plus I can't get grading done at home, so I get behind in my grading if I miss.  I was originally summoned last October, but I was able to reschedule because it was the week of sectionals.  So I chose the summer.  I am glad, though, that I wasn't chosen for a jury.

I kept checking the weather in the evening, and it kept saying "Feels like 105."  "Feels like 107."  So I waited till dark to run.

Work has a funny way of waiting for you to come back when you go out of town, get sick etc. So I see your point!

Has to feel good being done with the uncertainty of jury duty! And way to go to get some running done on a day that "feels like 105-107"!!

Wow you all are having a major heat wave! With that kind of heat, it must have still been pretty hot, even in the dark.

Yes I agree. I have seen some scary subs. I didn't get it myself when my cooperating teacher told me subs were horid (b/c I am a good sub). While student teaching I had a sub grade papers for me. HUGE MISTAKE. I had to redo them b/c she didn't know how to find the percentages! OMG!

It's nice that you're done with the jury duty now. Hopefully you won't have to do that again for a good long while.

I shouldn't complain about the heat we've got here. It's a lot hotter where you are, or at least more humid.
