I came home to start my run, and lo and behold (drum roll, please!)

 MY GARMIN ARRIVED!!

So I tore it out of the package and it had some charge in it, so I took it out on its maiden voyage.

Avg:  8:43.  Splits:  8:55, 8:55, 8:51, 9:01 (I had to wait at a stoplight and didn't know if stopping it would get me all messed up), 8:35, 8:26, 8:33, 8:26, (and 8:16 pace for the .09).

Totally awesome.  Now I really have to figure out what it can do!

Congratulations and welcome to the world of data junkies! Which model of Garmin did you get?

I always stop my Garmin when I get to a stop light and most of the time I remember to restart it when the light changes. I'm better about that now than I was at first.

I have a 405 (which did you get it?) any who there is a way to set it so that it will automatically stop for you at lights and stuff. B/c like Carolyn I would forget to turn it back on...LOL

I'm so glad you got one!
