Another quick 3 after a Home and School (that's our PTA, I guess) meeting that moved me to volunteer for something that I instantly regretted volunteering for...but it probably won't be too bad.

I was glad that I waited till dusk because it was over 90 during the day.  Though it wasn't much cooler when I ran, at least I know it wasn't over 90 anymore.

Towards the end of my run, when it was pretty dark, I was stopped by a walker.  At first I thought it was this crazy runner that I sorta know, but it was actually a woman with mental retardation who lives in a group home that is not too far away from our house.  I see her walking a lot.  I stopped and talked with her for a couple minutes, but I can't believe whoever's in charge there lets her walk alone in the dark.  She was wearing a reflective vest, but she was wearing all dark clothes underneath.  Hopefully she was just walking to the end of the block and back, but since there were no sidewalks she was walking on the side of a pretty dark road.  I guess in retrospect I probably should have kept an eye on where she was going.  I'm a jerk.

You're not a jerk. You were nice to stop and talk to her and you're nice to be concerned about her.

Love your new title. Tara always says she is on a diet, but she can eat ice cream because it melts. She is in your neck of the woods this week. She is observing at schools in Chicago. Quite a change for a small town North Dakota kid. She sent me a pic of a giant bean. And she also went to Chinatown.
