Another morning run at my mom's.  It was sweaty, but felt better than yesterday.  I ran a little faster too.  Then it was off to the zoo for some zoo "fun" with the kids and the neighbor kid.

I hate the zoo.

What zoo did you go to? Oh, I guess you're in Chicago if you're at your mom's. I was just thinking there weren't any good zoos in the east-central Illinois area.

I like the zoo better than the circus. At least you are not way out east dealing with that kind of heat.

You might hate me after you see my blog, but I was just so impressed with your last race report. :)

I knew I shouldn't have put in the bit about the plane. I knew it. A detailed race report leads to antics by Burt. You've made a frenemy, Burt...

And Carolyn, yeah, we went to Brookfield Zoo. And I didn't hate every second of it. We got to pet and feed sting rays. And there was a new bear exhibit where would you could view the bears underwater. The grizzly bear would come right up to the glass and put his paw up to the window. It was pretty amazing.

I love the zoo! Haven't been in years, but happy times when the kiddos were small.

Extra kids are never "fun." But we like our little zoo because you can blitz through it in less than an hour before you get all hot and tired.

I like the zoo with kids for a few hours. After that they start to get tired and grouchy and it is time to pack up and bail.

IMO the brookfield zoo has really gone down hill. Last time I was there (maybe two years ago) a lot of things were shut down.

From Tracy on Fri, Jul 09, 2010 at 10:27:07 from 173.23.75.96

I can't believe I'm about to defend Brookfield Zoo...but I think a lot of things were shut down while they were building this new habitat for the bears and wolves on the west side. They were moving things around. The old bear stuff by the children's zoo HAD been going downhill for a long time. I think the zoo has actually improved (since I was a kid, at least).

i don't want that kind of "fun" either.

Tracy-Really? I thought it was mo betta when I was a kid...and we weren't kids too far apart from each other. Honestly I really like Lincoln Park. Mostly b/c it is free and I really like the gorrilla/chimp exhibit
