An easy 5.  I'm not real motivated to run lately, so I'm surprised I keep doing it.  We'll see if I'm motivated tomorrow morning, since that's really my only window of opportunity tomorrow.

I'm not really motivated either. If it weren't for a race coming up, I don't know what I would do.

How about we both vow to keep at it.

Keep at it, maybe find a little 5K and focus on the sub-22 for a bit? Easier said than done at 4:45am I guess.

I hear ya...if it wasn't for the 1/2 next weekend I think I would throw in the towel. I think it is the heat.

From Michelle on Thu, May 27, 2010 at 09:58:44 from 97.118.36.161

I feel that way a lot. I just like the energy it gives me, and the food I can eat. That is what keeps me going. I hope you find your motivation soon.

From Tracy on Thu, May 27, 2010 at 10:03:53 from 209.175.177.37

My problem is that my body is not cooperating with me right now. I'm having hormonal issues that are wreaking havoc with my feeble attempts to get pregnant. I finally went to the doctor. It's depressing.

And I have had a huge cramp in the left calf (the side of my bouts of PF) for the last two days. I just can't massage it out.

Can you tell I'm crabby? Sorry.

From Michelle on Thu, May 27, 2010 at 10:08:58 from 97.118.36.161

I'm sorry you aren't feeling great. Maybe a few days break from running would do more good then harm. Sometimes if I take a break I feel better, get rested and then have more desire to run. Good luck with your day today and with your hormones, the things we do for kids!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, May 27, 2010 at 10:31:31 from 24.8.167.243

I'm sorry you're struggling, Tracy. Maybe you should take a break, like Michelle said.

When is school out for you? Are you going to have a chance to relax?

From Tracy on Thu, May 27, 2010 at 10:39:59 from 209.175.177.37

My students are actually gone but the other students are in school, so I've just been cleaning my classroom, planning for next year and doing homework. That's what I'm trying to do right now, but I keep finding distractions on FRB :)

But then I teach an ACT class the next couple weeks, just for a few hours in the morning.

I'm not really stressed with life. Things are quite normal for now :)

This might be TMI, but my "monthly friend" has not been here in a couple months and I am not pregnant. My stomach is killing me. And I think running has a lot to do with the serious delays. I'm planning on REALLY scaling back on miles, like down to 3-4 miles 4-5 times a week as soon as I get my not-so-monthly-anymore visitor. My dr. put me on progesterone and then I will be doing blood tests soon to make sure it's nothing more serious than low progesterone levels.

Does anyone else (or anyone on this blog) have this trouble?

Oh, and sorry Joe. This is definitely TMI for you, I bet.

Hey, it's your blog! I have a talkative wife, so I hear it all (when I don't turn my listening switch off).

From seeaprilrun on Thu, May 27, 2010 at 21:20:31 from 68.103.243.136

I will offer some TMI. I stopped menstruating for two years, no reason. Went to the doctor and had the tests done and all that; was told I just didn't ovulate and would need fertility treatments to get pregnant. Finally had my monthly visitor for a whopping two days out of the blue(no treatments or drugs) and voila, was pregnant with my daughter. Didn't menstruate again for nearly 3 years, running is what seems to have started it and made it regular again. I reckon this probably doesn't help much, but my doctor was wrong about needing fertility treatments. I have a close friend who was put on a ten day regimen of progesterone and then got pregnant shortly thereafter. Anyways, I really hope that it works out and you get pregnant! You have had a lot of stress and loss in your life lately and that could explain the absence of your visitor. (((Tracy)))

Hi Tracy, Good luck getting your period back. My period would disappear sometimes when I was in my 20s - I didn't run too much (maybe 25 miles/week), but did lots of other exercise, and ate next to nothing. I was really too skinny, tho at the time I was sure I was fat. When I started eating more I got my periods back. Sometimes I think our bodies shut down our cycles when we're too thin to successfully carry a baby. What's your BMI? (And you're probably thinner than your BMI indicates because of your muscle weight.)

From april27 on Sat, May 29, 2010 at 03:10:10 from 99.188.251.180

is your body cooperating more? or less?

From Tracy on Wed, Jun 02, 2010 at 17:31:58 from 173.23.75.96

Thanks for the words all. My stomach is feeling better, but I am still waiting. My BMI is squarely in the normal range (20.8 or so). Originally I thought that the absence was because I didn't have enough body fat, (I did a machine test in Feb, not really accurate, I know), but I think I have gained slightly since then, and I don't know how close that was anyway. I wouldn't consider myself too thin--I have an athletic build and a little cushion in the places that ladies have cushion :)

Hopefully the tests that I will take (if I ever get my period) will reveal that it is something not too scary and easy to regulate.
