Ah, the joys of parenting mistakes. We debated and debated, and the finally decided to buy Caleb an iPod for Christmas. First he broke the screen, and he saved up enough money to pay for it. We haven't fixed it yet. Now it won't charge because somehow the prongs on one side got bent, probably from someone trying and failing to jam it into the speakers we have. It may or may not have been Caleb, but regardless, we made a mistake. Now we are not sure. Fix the iPod? Consider it an expensive mistake and use the money he saved for something else? Grrr.

In working out news, today was shoulders and arms + abs. This was the best I've done at this workout. Even the abs felt easier today.

We've had regrets in the tech area as well. Tricky thing these days and peer pressure of course. Have u tried the warranty route?

It's definitely not covered. Frowny face. Stupid autocorrect.

Our kids keep breaking the ipad too...and everything else they touch. We've fixed it more than once - seems to be more vulnerable each time. But it was too valuable for when we go on trips not to fix. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy a new one the first time it broke, and then tell them if they break this one, there will be no more ipads, ever.

How this kid had enough cash to pay for this, I don't know. But when he first broke the screen and I told him how much it cost, he went to his piggy bank and pulled out almost enough. Then when we got the estimate, he pulled out more, plus some gift cards that I ended up buying from him so he could pay for it. We are fixing it. I feel uneasy, but I also feel that he has some say in how he chooses to spend the money he's saved. This is it, though. I've always had the opinion that if you can't take care of it, you don't deserve to have it. That's why I feel uneasy about the decision to fix it. So says the woman typing on an iPad with a crack in the corner...
