After a busy day of sleeping in a little (we usually get up for 7:30 mass), mass (we went to 9:00), cleaning (our house was a disaster and is currently immaculate for about 20 more minutes), gardening (planting my mother's day present and cutting down the huge amounts of ornamental grass from last year so that this year's growth could come in), I Wii Fitted for an hour and a half while Chuck took the kids to the farm.  I did pretty much every exercise that I had unlocked, except for the balance stuff.  I didn't mean to do it that long.  I like the yoga and the strength stuff.  Then the rest of the fam came home and after dinner we played some of the balance games.  Caleb likes the ski jump.  He's the best of us at that game.

Hope everyone had a happy Mother's Day.

I definitely have to start running today (it's now Monday).  I fear that if I don't run today I will keep avoiding it.

Sounds like a nice Sunday, we're partial to the Saturday vigil mass since we started running...

Now hit the road!

I stopped reading The Art of Racing in the Rain to read another book (Fuel, Jimmy Chin), and I stopped last night when I got to the part where Denny was being arrested, the day after Eve died. I don't think I want to keep reading this book. I'm not looking for a spoiler, but does Denny prevail in the end?

Anyway, I may have to finish the book next Winter, or as I like to think of it, the dark season. Lol!

No spoiler, JD, but the answer is yes. But that's one of those books where I wanted to quit reading too because I wasn't so sure it was going to end well. And it ends the way you think it will, so I'd say it's at least uplifting after all the depression of it. And it is pretty depressing for a while. But at least the book is a quick one, so you're not in sorrow for too long.

Is Fuel good? For some reason lately I'm on a historical fiction kick.

And Joe, I think that was exactly what I was looking for. I may not have much of a run to post, but I'll hit the road, as per your suggestion.

I like the ski jumping. With all your talk of Wii Fit, I just might have to break it out one of these days.

I also like me some historical fiction.

Let us know if you manage to run a bit today. (I'm one to talk after the running funk I was in for 8 or 9 months recently.)

Fuel was a good read. It was a random digital download from Amazon ($3.95). It's kind of a whimsical story, kind of about running, but mostly a love story with a couple of surprises thrown in.

I guess I'll finish The Art...thanks for the info.

Maybe I'll check it out.

I hope you don't blame me if you hate it. It's definitely a tear jerker. It'll be made into a chick flick for sure. It'll probably be the next Notebook, which is a movie that I've never seen, but I think all the teenage girls that I've taught over the last 11 years watch that when it's that time of the month.

Haha! Yeah, I better like it or you're in big trouble!

Funny, because so far it does come across as "chick-flicky", but whatever. I'm enjoying it so far. I love the first person dog perspective.

From JD on Wed, May 11, 2011 at 19:30:36 from 71.37.100.47

I finished the book last night. I loved it. Being a dog person, the ending left me reminiscing the several dogs I've had who are no longer around. Very nice story.
