Ran on the treadmill at 8:12 pace.  I ran at that pace for 35 minutes, mostly because I find it hard to believe that I'm actually running at 8:12 pace.  Then I cooled down a 1/2 mile.

I almost didn't get to run today because I tutored a kid after school and I thought it would take 1/2 hour and we worked for an hour and a half.  I had planned to run after I was done with him and then my husband was going to work his night job (a painting project with his bros).  But one brother had to cancel at the last minute so they are going to paint tomorrow.

I may not be able to run tomorrow, but I have conflicting guilt:  do I skip the run and feel guilty about that, or do I come home at 6 only to bring my kids to the gym so they can spend more time with someone else and then feel guilty about that?  I'll probably skip the run...mom guilt overrules everything.

That mom guilt really bites. I've got mom guilt in spades, but it actually bothers me less now that my kids are a little older.

That was nice of you to tutor the kid. What subject were you tutoring him in?

Well, at least I have something to look forward to, even if the guilt never really goes away.

I was doing some tutoring for the good old ACT. I teach an ACT prep class and one of the kids who took my class last year needed a quick refresher before taking it on Saturday.

I was looking at your last blog with jealousy since you said your kids' late start for school was at 10, which means they must start at 9? Man, how I wish that was my start time. We start at 7:50!

Ah, the good old ACT. I remember it well. Okay, not really. I don't remember anything about it except my score.

Actually, I have two kids in high school and two in elementary school. The high school starts at 7:15. The younger of the two goes to a church class before school (at the school) at 6:00. I drive him to that. The older one walks to school with his friend or gets a ride from a neighbor at about 6:45.

The elementary school starts at 9:05, or something like that. My two elementary kids take a school bus and they head to the bus stop about 8:45, but can go as late as 8:55 and still catch the bus.
