I warmed up .9 miles and then did 5.2 miles at 8 minute pace.  I'm counting those as fast.

I forgot to post on Tuesday's that I lifted, so I don't even remember what I lifted.  I think I did legs, lower back, and abs.

Yesterday I did arms, but only shoulders, bench press, biceps and triceps.

Today I did legs and abs (but only one set with a medicine ball--I ran a little longer than I had planned and needed to make it home for dinner).

I think that 8 minute miles definitely count as fast. Great job!

Were you able to run outside?

From Tracy on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 12:26:14

I didn't--I started my run at 4:30 and it was raining and I was wimpy.

One of these days I'm going to research whether treadmill running can compare to regular running. I just don't think I'm capable of sustaining an 8 minute pace for 5 miles outside, but I can do it on a treadmill.

I just wonder what is the comparison. Maybe it's just mental--maybe I actually could sustain 8 minute pace for that long outside if I tried?

I do feel that after I was running inside for 2 weeks, my last race felt easier at roughly the same pace (well, 8 seconds per mile slower), but I don't know if there were other factors at work there (like the fact that I was running with companions instead of by myself).
