I didn't intend to take off Monday and Tuesday, nor did I need to. But nevertheless I did.

I had to bandage my thighs for this run, but it worked fine. I ran in the beautiful evening while the boys biked with me. We went the park the long way, I ran along the bike path by myself while they played, and then I ran home with them.

Just two miles on the treadmill. Bandaged again. I have really sensitive skin that tends to react to adhesive in a bad way. I am a little afraid of a reaction, because I don't want to pull off skin to create a wound around my wound.

Totally not why I only ran two miles, though. Just felt two miles was okay for today. Need to decide my next goal. I don't do well without a goal on the horizon.

Not a great running week. Not a great work week either, but at least it's over. The week was hectic and full of traveling, which is not normally in my job description.

I worked a track meet today and then ran on the treadmill.

An easy 5 miles. This year, work has been full of lots of ups and downs. We're in the middle of a down right now. It's a little rough. I'm hoping this will not be one of those things that gets worse before it gets better, but I am fairly certain that we haven't hit the worst yet.

An easy p.m. run after dinner but before the kids' bedtime. It was almost 80 today, but it felt great. I don't think it was almost 80 when I ran though.

There are 17 more days of school left (including finals). I will be glad when it's over. I am tired of some of the drama. A couple people are really stressing me out.

An uneventful run, nothing even close to as exciting as the dollar I found on my run on Tuesday.

Today at school a teacher sent a kid to the office asking me to come to his room. I thought there was a problem. Turns out he needed me to watch his class for five minutes. I'm pretty sure it was so that he could take a dump.

Drove up to my mom's on Friday. Ran this morning around Riverside. About 4 miles in, I heard footsteps behind me. For about a half mile, a woman and I ran parallel (me on the sidewalk and her in the street). Finally, when I realized we were going to continue running the same way, I started talking to her. She was running 10 miles, just for fun. She said she has lost 35 pounds this year, and increased her running a bunch so that she could keep it off. She has never run more than 10 miles, but we talked about races and whatnot. Finally we parted ways when she turned right and i thought i was turning left. Turns out I turned the wrong way, but whatever. I made it home. I didn't have my garmin, but I mapped this, and it was just under 7.

Two pretty horrible runs right in a row. Yesterday was horrible because seriously I almost had an accident. I had to stop and walk, otherwise there would have been trouble.

Today it was almost 90. I started my run, intending to end up at the farm where Chuck and the kids were planting vegetables. I stopped about a mile from the farm so I could get water at the Knights of Columbus. Then I bummed a ride up the road to the farm because I was no longer interested in torturing myself.

Not a great running week, but I was glad to get out today. An uneventful run. It was hot, but not nearly as hot as Tuesday. And at least I didn't almost soil myself.

An easy five miles. It was hot today, but by the time I got out to run, it was at least windy and not as humid.

I am glad I ran today. Life has been busy and I haven't made running much of a priority over the past few weeks. I am (hopefully) going to start p90x on Monday with the girl who is baby-sitting the kids this summer. I am very excited and a little nervous.

Another late in the evening run that I am glad I did. It was short and on the treadmill.

The past couple weeks have been busy with end of the year stuff and interviewing. Lots of evenings and some work on the weekened. One more week of school. Then a little breathing room!

Charlotte turns 1 on the 25th (which is today, since I'm posting this on Saturday while I am proctoring some final exams...). This year has gone by fast.

I took Caleb with me. He rode his bike, but started complaining about a mile in. He had several opportunities to go back, and always opted to keep going. We stopped at a park to play for about 10 minutes. Then we stopped. And stopped. And stopped. We had a melt down when he hit a curb and racked himself. The last 1.5 miles was okay. That was after I told him to pray when he felt he couldn't keep going. We stopped a couple more times, but he wasn't as whiney. It wasn't the most fun I've ever had with him, but it was okay.

Day 1 of p90x. Chest whatever x and ab ripper x. It was tough, but do-able. The guy is a little annoying, but I like the vibe of the whole thing. I couldn't do everything well or with lots of reps, but I am confident that I will be able to.

Two nagging questions: 1. How do I do this and running? I don't know if I'll have that kind of time. But I guess I'll just run when I can. 2. How do I do pull ups without a pull up bar or a place to use resistance bands to mimic a pull up bar? I guess I'll just google that to see if anyone has some suggestions.

Day 2.  Plyometrics.  I liked that one.  The dude called it the mother of all the p90x workouts.  I think yesterday was harder, but I have no upper body strength.  In 90 days, I will have much upper body strength.  I will be able to arm wrestle anyone.  Maybe I'd even win a match or two.

Day 3. Shoulders and arms plus the ab workout. I don't know if the ab workout seemed harder on Monday because the workout was harder on Monday? For some reason I had trouble with certain exercises that today seemed to be no problem.

Day 4.  This one was yoga.  I enjoyed it.  I would like to run at some point this week, but I might just have to be satisfied with Sunday's run.  Tomorrow is the last day of school, then I'm driving to Chicago for a party as soon as Chuck gets home.  My p90x buddy is going to Michigan, so I'm a little worried about the end of the week laziness getting me.  I think, however, that I should be able to leave school at 3, but it depends on how long some interviews go tomorrow afternoon.
