An early morning speed workout on the track.  2 ish mile wu, 2 x 1200 at 5K pace (I was about 10 seconds slow on both), 6 x 200 at 5K pace (I was about 4 seconds fast on each), 2 x 1200 at 5K pace (about 7 seconds slow on both).  Recovery (400 after each 1200, 100 after each 200),  2 ish mile cool down.

Funeral was this morning.  It was both a celebration of his life and a mourning of his death, but it was beautiful.  Maybe more details later.

That looks like a great speed workout. Just out of curiosity, what is your target 5K pace?

I'm glad the funeral was beautiful.

Great workout Tracy ... don't worry about hitting the pace exactly ... you were very close! You rock big time!

Big ethernet hug to you.

My goal for my next 5K (and I don't know when that is) is right around 7 mm.

But for the purposes of training right now, my target 5K pace is 7:12 or so. On the 1200s I was around 7:20 pace and the 200s I was around 6:40 pace.

Great job on your speed workout! You seem to be getting faster, or maybe I am just slower so you seem really fast.

Really good run since you followed through with the workout. I seem to just give up when I don't hit my targets but your way is obviously much better.

That sounds like a brutal speed workout--makes me shudder at the thought, I mean wow that is a LOT of 5k pace. I want to vomit just thinking about that workout--guess I'm going to have to try it..maybe next week!

What an emotional day. I hope you all are experiencing some peace.

Tracy, your speedwork was awesome!

I'm glad Luke's funeral went well. I'm guessing it's still difficult, though, and you probably feel like you have a big empty spot in your heart. Hopefully soon that spot won't feel quite so empty because it will be filled with the many positive memories of Luke's life. Take care.
