5 easy miles in the a.m. because I am chaperoning a dance tonight.  It was cold and dark.  I was pretty creaky starting out, but felt better after a mile.  I went slow, though I don't know how slow, since my garmin is still dead.  It's probably better that way.

I'm familiar with cold and dark. It makes me feel creaky too.

Perhaps we should all go without the Garmin once in a while, but I just can't bring myself to do it intentionally. (I can, however, avoid looking at it during a run on occasion.)

Have fun at the dance.

My first few miles in the early morning runs feel terrible too. I try not to look at my watch.

I'm impressed. A morning run in the cold and the dark. I just cannot motivate myself for early morning runs. Good for you!
